Contract costs can vary greatly and require managing with help from KPIs and performance metrics.
Performance metrics may be complicated i.e. to use quality as a metric in software development requires the definition of quality.
Software development can often take years to complete delivery therefore time scales and criteria for payment will need to be designed and agreed by both parties.
