The events reported on daily are parts of larger trends which are indicators of underlaying system structures.
With that in mind, we are then able to manage, and live within, a world full of complex systems.

• A systems view becomes more important as we produce viable ways of dealing with societies and their demands.
• We need a more complete/holistic view to ensure future growth does no harm.

Studying systems helps deal with intransigent problems and issues which otherwise may have eluded resolution.
Without this approach, mistakes will continue to be made resulting in serious repercussions.
We need to adopt “joined up” thinking – a system view.
When defining a system, we must always give it a precise name and a clear purpose.
